MOUNTAIN VIEW FARM
Loudoun County, VA
Mountain View Farm, a part of the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship, is located 60 miles west of Washington, DC, near the historic town of Harpers Ferry, WV. Owners Shawna Dewitt and Attila Agoston met at the South Pole in 2001. After deciding they'd prefer digging in the dirt to shoveling snow, they moved to Mountain View Farm, where they raise chickens, vegetables, herbs—and their daughter Ruby and son Emmett. The farm is a part of the Blue Ridge Center's innovative approach to environmental stewardship and provides an important laboratory and classroom for exploring the interrelationships between food cultivation and the ecological values central to the Center's mission. Mountain View Farm's produce can be found at our Penn Quarter FRESHFARM Market on Thursdays.
