EVERONA DAIRY

Everona Dairy was founded in 1992 when Dr. Elliott bought a Border Collie puppy on impulse at the Montpelier Spring Wine Festival. Dr. Elliott had to get sheep so the puppy would have work to do. One day, Dr. Elliott was trying to think of some way for the sheep to pay their own way, and it occurred to her that she might milk them. She didn't know then that there are more sheep milked in the world than cows, nor that sheep's milk cheese was so delicious! One thing led to another and now Everona Dairy is milking over 240 sheep and has upwards of 10 full-time employees "We are producing award-winning sheep's milk cheese—aged, washed-rind, and unpasteurized, as simple as it gets," "It is exciting to introduce people to the complexities of good cheese.
