JOAN NATHAN
Cookbook Author

Before embarking on a successful culinary career, Joan earned degrees in French literature and public administration. She worked for the mayoral offices of Jerusalem and New York City, where she founded the Ninth Avenue Food Festival. Joan contributes articles on international ethnic food to The New York Times, Food and Wine, Gourmet and Hadassah magazine, and is the author of 7 books, including Jewish Cooking in America, winner of the James Beard Award and the IACP/Julia Child Cookbook of the Year Award.
