RUTH GRESSER
Executive Chef and Owner, Pizza Paradiso
Ruth Gresser is the executive chef and owner of Pizza Paradiso in Washington, DC. The restaurant is consistently rated the top pizza restaurant in the city. Ruth began cooking early with her mother, who was a caterer. After cooking her way through college, Ruth traveled to San Francisco, where she got her first full-time restaurant job. In 1986, she moved to New Hampshire to study classical and modern French cooking with Madeleine Kamman. She then relocated to Washington, DC, where she cooked at Le Pavilion and played a key role in opening three P Street restaurants: Obelisk, Pizzeria Paradiso and Blue Plate.
